The Finance & Administration Committee recommended two separate public‑works authorizations: purchasing multifunctional equipment to clear sidewalks and authorizing signature to secure a dump truck chassis.
Staff said the multifunctional rider‑style machine (snowblower, brine sprayer, power broom and plow attachments) costs $26,131.76 from a CoStar vendor and can be absorbed in the current capital budget after reallocating funds freed by a lower sewer repair cost. The equipment is intended to reduce overtime and improve sidewalk safety. The committee recommended authorization by voice vote (3–0).
Separately, staff requested authorization to sign for the chassis for a Public Works dump truck to secure placement in a 12–14 month production queue; the chassis cost is $72,980.27 and was included in this year’s capital plan. Staff said the borough previously secured the truck outfit and now needs the chassis authorization to complete the purchase later in the year; no immediate payment is required at signature time. The committee recommended authorization (3–0).
