Resignations leave Narberth police pension trustees short two members; committee seeks qualified applicants

The committee acknowledged recent resignations that have left the police pension trustees with only one remaining member, preventing the trustees from meeting with a quorum.

Staff said one member resigned at the end of a term and Ken Bergen is resigning because he is moving out of the borough, leaving just a single trustee in place. The borough has been advertising the open seats since December and asked members and the public to refer candidates with relevant finance or banking skills or an interest in learning pension oversight.

Committee members moved to recommend acceptance of the resignation and expressed appreciation for the departing trustee’s service. Staff said the trustees work with the borough’s financial manager (CBIZ) and that filling the seats is necessary for fiduciary oversight of the fund.
