Council refers and confirms several board appointments, hears support from agency leaders

The Honolulu City Council handled a slate of appointments and confirmations.

David Britton introduced himself and described his real‑estate zoning experience after the council presented Resolution 26‑56 confirming his appointment to the Zoning Board of Appeals; the item was referred to the Committee on Zoning and Planning for further consideration. Richard Bryce appeared and thanked the council when Resolution 26‑59 (Fire Commission appointment) was referred to the Committee on Public Safety. Ernie Lau (Board of Water Supply) spoke in support of Darian Chun’s appointment to the Board of Water Supply (Resolution 26‑61) though the appointee was not present; that item was referred to the Committee on Energy, Environment and Sustainability.

Other committee reports and appointment resolutions were moved and referred across committees without recorded objections. The council’s committee process will carry these confirmations to full committee hearings where additional questions and final committee recommendations will be recorded.
