Richland County commissioners approve routine requisitions, equipment and personnel items

The Richland County Board of Commissioners approved a series of routine agenda items during the March 24 session.

The board certified the record for March 19 with amendments to clarify stormwater consultations, increase acreage referenced for a Buc‑ee's development from 30 to 35 acres, and to clarify that Buc‑ee's will "initially pay" for infrastructure (all amendments were proposed and read into the record). The board thereafter approved a requisition and other consent items.

Other approvals recorded in the meeting included a quote from Standard for a new juvenile‑court air handler (the chair said the purchase is already budgeted from reinvestment/profit), two travel requests from the auto‑title office, authorization for annual nuisance trapping at Dayspring, approval of a 2026 EMA booth at the fair, and authorization to advertise for a senior seasonal building maintenance position. Motion and second were recorded for each item and roll‑call assent is recorded in the transcript.

What happens next: Staff will proceed with noted procurements and postings under existing budget authority and follow board direction for disbursement of funds where applicable.
