Planning staff to email 2025 report and roll out digital permit process soon

A planning department staff member told the Bowling Green Zoning Board of Appeals on March 11 that the department will email board members a copy of the 2025 planning report rather than distributing printed copies and that the city is moving toward an all‑digital application and permit process.

The staff member said the department has been working on the project for roughly two years and is "hoping early April" to start the digital permitting process, though some kinks were still being worked out. The staff member offered to email the full 2025 planning report rather than take meeting time to review a lengthy printed packet.

Board members were asked to note that future packet materials may look different in printouts once the department switches to digital distribution and to provide any requested detail in application sketches to assist the review process.

The announcement was presented as an operational update; no formal action or vote was taken.
