At its March 19 meeting, the Bluff Planning & Zoning Commission agreed to lengthen its regular work sessions from 60 to 90 minutes while keeping the 6:00 p.m. start time.
Chair Malia Collins proposed the extension to allow more time for discussion; commissioners agreed. The minutes do not record a formal roll-call vote, and the decision was recorded as an agreed change to meeting practice.
Commissioners reviewed upcoming training opportunities and resources, including the Utah League of Cities and Towns (ULCT), a March 25 land-use training, and an April 13 session in Monticello. Brian Whitney noted he had attended the ULCT legislative spring training. Commissioners also identified Civic Linq as a resource for training courses and noted that additional funding for training will be available in the amended 2026 budget.
Commissioner Marcia Hadenfeldt asked for clarification on rules around carpooling to training events; Chair Collins said she will ask minute taker Erin Nelson to confirm whether commissioners may carpool to the April 13 Monticello event. The commission added a land-use training report-out to the April 2 agenda.
Next steps: staff is directed to confirm travel/carpooling policy for commissioners, report back on available training funding, and include a training report-out on April 2.
