Committee sets quarterly meetings for third Thursday at 9 a.m.; Carlsbad and Oceanside to alternate

The Buena Vista Lagoon Committee unanimously approved a quarterly meeting schedule, setting meetings for the third Thursday of the quarter from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and alternating locations between Carlsbad and Oceanside.

Chair (speaker 1) introduced options for meeting frequency and locations, including quarterly meetings, Thursday mornings held only in Carlsbad because of Oceanside conflicts, or Monday afternoons. After discussion about member schedules and Oceanside farmers-market parking conflicts, the committee voted to adopt quarterly meetings and fix the time at 9–10 a.m.

Members raised parking and public-access concerns. Speaker 5 noted parking shortages at recent meetings and said staff had suggested moving a few blocks and reserving spaces; the committee agreed staff would reserve a number of parking spaces when meetings are held in Carlsbad. The committee also agreed that special meetings may be called if urgent funding or project items require attention between quarterly sessions.
