The Goshen Board of Public Works and Safety authorized Clerk Treasurer Richard Aguirre April 2 to sign an engagement letter with Baker Tilly Advisory Group LP for interim deputy clerk treasurer services through mid‑July 2026.
Aguirre told the board the engagement would provide a single Baker Tilly adviser to provide more consistent day‑to‑day support than prior, higher‑rate ad hoc assistance, and the packet names a CPA (referred to in the presentation as Don Rhodes; the packet also references "John Rhodes" in a residence note). Aguirre said the adviser would be on site the first week of the engagement and thereafter available about three days per week remotely. The cost was described as "not to exceed $19,500, not counting reasonable and necessary travel expenses." Aguirre said the mayor was involved in the interviews and supported the engagement.
A board member moved to authorize Aguirre to sign the engagement, contingent on final legal review; the motion was seconded and carried on a voice vote.
