Planning commission reviews consent items: Valero rebrand, Dogwood Acres plat and Maryland Farms building repainting

At the start of the meeting, planning staff presented several consent items recommended for approval.

Staff said Tristar Energy seeks a minor site‑plan alteration to rebrand the Gulf station at 150 Franklin Road as Valero, limited to refacing the monument sign and canopy and replacing smaller signs; staff said canopy logo area would total 18 square feet and building/car‑wash signage would be 40 square feet and that the monument sign size will not change or convert to LED numbers. The rebrand carries 11 standard conditions of approval.

Staff next summarized a revised final plat for Dogwood Acres (9727 Concord Road) from Rotherton Land Surveying that would combine two previously created lots back into a single lot; staff listed 12 standard conditions of approval.

Finally, staff described ASD Sky’s request to repaint building elevations at 5200 Maryland Way (Maryland Farms office area), changing exterior brown brick to alabaster white with urban bronze accents and painting cellular antennas to match; staff said the proposal meets standards and carries 11 standard conditions of approval.

Commissioners briefly asked clarifying questions about pavement repair at the Valero site and timelines; staff said pavement fixes are outside the minor rebranding scope and that site‑plan or pavement work would come through separate approvals if proposed.
