Bob Lesnevski, vice president of the Creekside Park Village Association, told the board during public comment that residents are increasingly alarmed by so‑called e‑motorcycles operating on township property.
“These are full on e motorcycles. These e motorcycles can reach speeds greater than 30 miles per hour and are driven primarily by middle school boys with full on motorcycle crash helmets,” Lesnevski said. He said the devices lack pedals, exceed regulatory power limits and so often sit outside the definition of ordinary e‑bikes; he also described visible damage to parks landscaping and said returning riders to their parents has not been an effective deterrent.
Lesnevski urged the board and township staff to work with Harris and Montgomery County officers to develop an enforcement strategy and to remove illegally operated vehicles from township streets and parks before more injuries occur. “Unless there are consequences for illegal behavior, I don't think there will be any change in that behavior,” he said.
Board members responded that they share residents’ concerns and that staff will follow up: after reconvening from executive session, the board directed that another report on e‑bikes, e‑scooters and the electric motorcycles Mr. Lesnevski described be brought back to a future meeting for consideration and possible agenda action. The transcript records no formal enforcement action at this meeting; the matter was scheduled for future consideration.
