Pottawattamie supervisors approve ES&S election machine purchase, roughly $600,000

The Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors approved the bid from Election Systems & Software (ES&S) for new voting machines and authorized the board chair to sign the purchase agreement for approximately $600,000.

The approval took place during the March 10 meeting after the county auditor presented bidding results and staff recommendations. The motion passed unanimously. Minutes record the purchase amount as approximately $600,000; the final purchase agreement will set exact amounts and delivery schedules.

County officials said the procurement responds to an RFP and is intended to replace or upgrade the county’s voting equipment ahead of upcoming elections. Staff will return with the finalized purchase agreement and timeline for equipment delivery and testing.
