The Pasadena Public Library launched a career online high school program aimed at helping adults complete a high school diploma while also earning a career certificate.
The program is open to California residents 19 and older. Participants begin with a two‑week prerequisite course and then follow a self‑paced online curriculum that typically takes about 18 months. Each student is paired with an academic coach. The library said the program expands opportunities for adult learners and connects residents with workforce training; it also reported that three students have completed the requirements and earned diplomas.
Separately, the City of Pasadena’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department and the Commission on the Status of Women announced “Her Story 2026: The Path Forward for Pay Equity,” a free event on March 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Robinson Park Recreation Center. The program will feature welcome remarks from Vice Mayor Jess Rivas and a panel with experts in human resources, film and employment law; event materials note attendees will view excerpts from the film "Lily" and have opportunities to connect with local advocacy groups.
Library and city event organizers encouraged advance registration via the city’s event webpages.
