Committee seeks partners for district-wide asphalt repairs; solicitor to meet on Mill Hall sewer issue

Sam said staff emailed every township and municipality in the district seeking partnerships to consolidate asphalt repair work; only Woodward Township replied and said it lacked capacity to partner. Sam said staff included two options in the outreach: (1) hire contractors directly to perform work for the district, or (2) form a partnership with contractors to jointly schedule multiple jobs.

On the Mill Hall Borough Sewer Authority item, staff confirmed a meeting with the district solicitor the following afternoon to discuss the ongoing matter; staff will report outcomes in a weekly memo. Separately, staff noted two annual service-contract items: Fry's Fire Protection (extinguishers and related services) and emergency elevator-communications contracts must be approved by the board before July 1; additional quotes will be presented at the next meeting.

Next steps: staff will re-send partnership requests, prepare a public bid for asphalt repairs (likely of one school area at a time), report back after the solicitor meeting on the sewer authority, and place annual service-contract quotes on the next agenda for board approval.
