Cumberland County Surrogate Skip Luizzi announces Vineland satellite office, ribbon cutting set for tomorrow

Cumberland County Surrogate Skip Luizzi announced on Around South Jersey that his office will open a Vineland satellite tomorrow at 3:00 p.m., moving into space in the VOTEC building at Sherman and Delsey Drive to serve the county’s eastern residents.

"The surrogate's office is opening an annex or an addition in Vineland, New Jersey," Luizzi said, announcing the ribbon cutting and adding that the main surrogate’s office in the historic Bridgeton courthouse will remain in place.

Luizzi said the new Vineland site will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., by appointment, with the option to drop off or pick up paperwork. He said staff will travel between Bridgeton and Vineland as the office establishes its operations.

Funding for the move includes a $25,000 grant from the Department of Aging to pay for renovations to the leased VOTEC space; Luizzi said the remainder of the setup costs came from the surrogate’s office funds and "it's not costing the taxpayers one dime." He also noted the Vineland site is fully handicap accessible, addressing limitations at the courthouse location.

The announcement included public details about the ribbon cutting (3:00 p.m. tomorrow) and invited regional officials; Luizzi said the office will continue community outreach such as senior center visits and will provide appointments, short-form paperwork for banks and motor-vehicle title transfers, and access to deputy staff including attorney Bill Gilson.

The office’s move and hours were presented as a service-expansion measure to improve access for residents in Vineland and the eastern part of Cumberland County. The surrogate asked residents to consult the office website for forms and to make appointments in advance so staff can prepare paperwork.
