Lancaster — The Lancaster ISD Board of Trustees voted March 26 to approve a resolution nominating Superintendent Dr. Katrice Pereira for the 2026 Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Superintendent of the Year award.
Secretary Morris moved to approve the resolution; Vice President Queenie Nichols seconded. The board clerk announced the tally as five yes votes with one abstention from Trustee Cortez; the motion carried. The board signed a resolution to begin the nomination process and directed communications staff to start the application materials.
Dr. Katrice Pereira thanked the board and credited her instructional leadership team and cabinet for the district’s progress, saying she was “humbled by the recognition” and emphasized the work of staff and campus leaders in serving students.
Next steps: Communications staff will prepare application materials and the board president will sign the resolution for submission to TASB.
