At its March 24 meeting the Kossuth County Board of Supervisors approved several routine but practical actions affecting county operations and infrastructure.
The board unanimously approved purchase of a Zoll X Series Monitor for emergency medical services at a cost of $36,348.72; delivery is expected in March 2027 (motion by Supervisor Kyle Stecker; second Amber Garman). The board also authorized Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative to replace approximately 260 power poles within the cooperative’s service boundary in Kossuth County (townships listed in the minutes); the authorization (permit 03-03-2026) was approved by motion from Supervisor Amber Garman and second from Supervisor Kyle Stecker.
Other unanimous actions included appointing Bolton & Menk as engineer for a 10‑County Wetland Locator project (motion by Supervisor Kyle Stecker), accepting Ducks Unlimited plans and setting the DD 4 Lat 11 bid opening for April 14, 2026 at 9:00 a.m., and setting bid consideration for April 21, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. The board presented 25‑year service awards for Dawn Heiderscheidt and noted Randy Sewick will also receive a 25‑year award. The board discussed employee health insurance options and held a discussion with the County Auditor; no final insurance decision is recorded in the minutes.
