Madison County Clerk Mike Kevel said Monday that Transportation Security Administration checkpoints now recognize CDL enhanced licenses, resolving a system glitch that in recent months had required some holders to undergo extra screening.
"They are able to get through TSA checkpoint without a problem," Kevel said, referring to travelers presenting a CDL enhanced license at airport security. Kevel opened the message as part of his "Mike's Monday" update and described the earlier issue as a data problem in TSA's system.
Kevel said county staff had reported the problem "several months ago" and that the issue involved missing information in the agency's system. "There was a glitch, there was a problem, a lack of, information in their system," he said, adding that the interruptions to travel have ceased.
The announcement is an informational update from the Madison County Clerk's Office; Kevel offered no new local policy or formal action. He closed the message by encouraging residents to "enjoy your flight and enjoy your spring vacation."
