The board approved a consent-agenda item updating the elementary classroom teacher job description without objection.
The board then debated and approved the 2026-27 school calendar. Administrators noted a late-Labor-Day timing and a correction to list Nov. 18 as a half day for student conferences; the calendar also shortens pre-K by about four days to allow administrators time to complete expanded screening protocols. The motion to adopt the calendar was made by Kyle and seconded by Crystal; the board approved the calendar unanimously by those present.
On a finance motion tied to an RHR audit recommendation, the board approved two transfers to address FY2025 overexpenditures. The motion read, in part: "Dollars 384,644 from Article I to Article II to cover over expenditures in Fiscal Year 2025. In addition to $141,947 from Article I, regular instruction, to Article IV, other instruction to cover over expenditures in fiscal year 2025." Anthony moved the motion and Kyle seconded; the motion passed unanimously by those present.
Board chair Peter then called for an executive session to discuss Tri Town Education Association teacher negotiations pursuant to 1 MRSA subsection 41; Kyle moved and Anthony seconded that motion, which the board approved and entered.
No formal policy changes were adopted beyond the consent agenda and calendar approval; administrators said they will provide updated budget numbers and follow-up materials at the next meeting.
