Tunkhannock Area SD board approves minutes, contracts, trips and textbooks

The Tunkhannock Area School District board approved a slate of routine items during its business meeting, including minutes, finance items, personnel reports and a set of contracts and trips presented by administration.

The board approved the minutes of the Feb. 18 meeting and ratified business and finance items by roll call. The personnel report and conference attendance requests were approved. The board approved overnight out‑of‑state field trips for the robotics team (pending qualifications), the girls softball trip to Myrtle Beach (funded by boosters and families) and a senior class trip to Ocean City, N.J. (funded by the class).

Administrators presented a purchase of new world‑history textbooks for $14,349.13, which the board approved. Contracts approved included a Datum Products Inc. agreement to remove and dispose of high‑school cafeteria floor tile and mastic for $23,954 (to be financed with budget funds), an agreement with Ohio Pile Prints Inc. for a $1,000 student scholarship in lieu of royalties, and a three‑year ParentSquare communications contract (listed at $12,753 for 2026–27, $12,948 for 2027–28 and $13,140 for 2028–29). The board also approved a roughly $1,000 budget transfer for additional auto‑tech supplies.

Each item was approved by roll call with the board recording affirmative votes on the record; one member was noted absent earlier in the meeting.
