Committee backs five‑year license for Untitled Art Fair and sends agreement to commission

Commissioner Laura Dominguez moved March 25 to advance a five‑year license agreement proposal with the Untitled Art Fair, a recurring beach event, and the committee adopted the recommendation by acclamation.

Representatives for Untitled — including Robin Rosenbaum and founder Jeff Lawson — told the committee the fair has run in Miami Beach for 14 years, provides significant economic impact and complements other Art Week programming. Dominguez characterized the agreement as an obvious cultural and economic partnership and said she would second the motion to formalize the city’s support for the fair.

Chair Alex Fernandez noted the city should be selective about events but said Untitled meets the criteria for cultural value and economic benefit. With no opposition from the public or the committee, the item will proceed to the commission for final approval.

Next steps: the five‑year license agreement will be presented to the full commission for final action.
