Votes at a glance: Madison County approves licenses, appointments and hazard mitigation resolution

At its March 30 meeting the Madison County Board of Commissioners approved several routine and consequential actions.

- Beer and wine license: The board approved a beer-and-wine license for Rose Golf Club Incorporated after staff confirmed the applicant had met requirements. Motion by Commissioner Kirk; second by Commissioner May. The motion carried by voice vote.

- Appointment: The board appointed Russ Nicks to the Industrial Development and Building Authority (IDBA). The motion was moved and seconded and carried by voice vote; commissioners praised his governance experience.

- Agreement amendment (Advantage Behavioral Health): The board approved an amendment to an existing agreement allowing Advantage Behavioral Health to park a mobile opioid-use services unit on county property, upgrade certain power outlets and pay a share of utilities for the spot. Motion by Commissioner Chandler; second by Commissioner Adams.

- Hazard mitigation resolution: The board adopted the county’s updated hazard mitigation plan and associated resolution following state review (EMA); the plan’s priorities create a pipeline for grant applications and mitigation projects.

- Corrected quitclaim / lift station: A technical correction to a prior transfer related to a booster pump/lift station parcel was approved; staff said the lift station will serve the frontage along Highway 29 and adjacent properties.
