The Hamilton County School Board recognized Soddy Daisy High School’s wrestling program for sustained success, noting the team’s combined state championships in duals and traditional formats over a three-year span.
Superintendent Dr. Robertson told the board it is "great pride" to recognize the program’s accomplishments, citing what was described as six combined state championships across the two formats and a "3-peat" in both team and traditional competitions. Coaches and student-athletes were invited forward to receive certificates and posed for a team photo; the superintendent said the county commission will present state-championship rings to the athletes.
Board members praised the coaches’ work and the students’ dedication, and the board congratulated the Soddy Daisy program for representing Hamilton County Schools. The recognition included a list of coaches and student-athletes called forward by the superintendent.
