The Albia City Council approved a resolution on Dec. 7 to adopt a police department agreement running from Jan. 2020 through Dec. 2022 that the city attorney said includes a wage increase of $0.45 for two years and a higher health-insurance cap.
City Attorney Bob Breckenridge reviewed the benefit package and wording changes in the contract during the meeting; Police Chief Brad Evinger indicated the department was in agreement. Dennis Conley moved and Merle Regenold seconded the resolution; the council voted unanimously in favor.
The minutes record the council’s approval by roll call with all members voting aye. The agreement will be implemented and administered by city human-resources and the police department under the usual payroll and benefits procedures. The minutes do not specify the insurance-cap dollar amount or whether the wage increase is an hourly or other basis; the record lists the increase as “0.45.”
