Owosso Historic District Commission welcomes new member, reviews preservation training and approves routine business

The Owosso Historic District Commission met March 18, 2026, at the City Hall Conference Room. Chairperson Steven Teich called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m., and City Manager Nathan Henne recorded roll call; present were Chairperson Steven Teich, Commissioner Jeff Ferweda, Commissioner Harrington, Vice Chair Omer, Commissioner Byrne and Commissioner Powell.

Vice Chair Omer moved to approve the March 18 agenda; Commissioner Harrington seconded. The motion passed unanimously. Commissioner Byrne then moved to approve the minutes of the February 18, 2026 meeting as presented; Commissioner Harrington seconded, and the commission approved the minutes by unanimous vote.

During communications the commission welcomed new member Jeff Ferweda and viewed training materials from the Michigan Historic Preservation Network, specifically a presentation titled “Historic Preservation Overview.” No public comments or board comments were recorded during the meeting.

The commission set its next meeting for April 15, 2026. Vice Chair Omer moved to adjourn at 7:30 p.m.; Commissioner Powell seconded, and the commission voted to adjourn unanimously.
