The Granite Falls City Council approved routine consent items and adopted a new administrative policy on landscaping at its Feb. 4 meeting.
On a motion by Councilmember Steven Glenn, seconded by Councilmember Bruce Straughn, the council approved the consent agenda, which included approval of the Jan. 7 minutes; payment of claims checks #415936 through #415979 and one EFT totaling $1,070,249.46; and payroll EFTs (23 EFTs) totaling $97,140.81. The motion carried unanimously; the minutes record all five members voting aye (Mayor Matthew Hartman, Mayor Pro Tem David Griggs, Councilmembers Steven Glenn, Bruce Straughn and Tom FitzGerald).
Later in the meeting the council considered AB 029-2026, a motion to approve Resolution 2026-02 adopting the City’s Administrative Landscape Guidelines and authorizing the mayor to sign. Councilmember Steven Glenn moved the measure and Councilmember Bruce Straughn seconded; the resolution was approved unanimously with no recorded nay votes.
No further action on either item was recorded. The council’s adoption of the landscape guidelines places those administrative standards into the record; the resolution text is listed in the minutes as Resolution 2026-02.
