The ROCORI PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT School Board approved a contract to expand Professional Learning Community (PLC) training to the entire district, the administration said.
Director of teaching and learning Amy Notch (introduced at the meeting) described a multi‑component package — a kickoff aligned to back‑to‑school workshops, two embedded coaching days during which the consultant will observe and coach administrative teams and PLC facilitators, and three two‑hour virtual follow‑up sessions designed with district facilitators. “This essentially would be like our final level of training with this learning model so that then we build out independently from there,” Notch told the board.
Notch estimated the consultant package would run about $30,000. Administration said the expense is an allowable use of staff development funding and that the district will not pay for time outside of contract (hotel, travel and teacher time were excluded from the cost estimate). The board approved the agreement by voice vote and asked that staff return with scheduling and implementation details once dates are set.
Next steps: The Director of Teaching and Learning will schedule the kickoff and coaching days, design the virtual sessions with PLC facilitators, and provide a progress update to the board after initial implementation.
