Mineola board approves consent agenda after minor date correction

The Mineola Union Free School District Board of Education approved its consent agenda, Resolution 76, after a trustee asked for a minor correction to two class-adviser dates.

Patrick Talti moved to approve the consensus agenda; a trustee seconded, a date correction for two class advisers was proposed and moved, and trustees voted by voice to approve the amendment and then the full resolution. Board President Cheryl Lampasona announced, “Resolution 76 passes.”

Interim Superintendent Catherine Fishman told the board the district received five responses to the superintendent-search request for proposals, which were due that day. Fishman and trustees also discussed the district climate survey timeline and noted K12 Insight is the vendor that will process new survey questions.

The amendment changed dates listed under the clubs section on page 5 of the packet to reflect the correct event days for two advisers; the board recorded the correction before voting. No specific vote tallies were recorded in the publicly read minutes; trustees approved the amendment and the consent agenda by voice votes.

The board closed the business portion of the meeting by reminding the community about upcoming events, including Miniola Macaroni Night and the district art show.
