On July 24, 2025, the Huntley Police Pension Fund Board of Trustees voted to accept the actuarial valuation prepared by Foster & Foster and to request a municipal tax levy of $1,843,504 to cover the recommended municipal contribution.
The valuation, reviewed at the board’s regular meeting at Huntley Village Hall, produced a recommended municipal contribution of $1,843,504 based on the data and assumptions in the Foster & Foster report. Trustee Cathy Haley moved to accept the valuation and request the levy; Trustee Michael Hewitt seconded the motion, which carried by roll call vote (AYES: Hewitt, Lanute, Mraz, Haley; ABSENT: Heagney).
The requested levy represents the municipal contribution portion of the fund’s funding plan reported in the actuarial valuation. Board members discussed the valuation at the meeting and noted that the finalized actuarial report had been prepared for their review; the municipal compliance report related to the valuation will be presented for adoption at the board’s next regular meeting.
The board’s action to request the levy is an administrative step that directs the village to include the pension contribution on its property tax levy request for the coming fiscal year. The board did not alter assumptions in the valuation at the meeting.
The next regular meeting of the board is scheduled for October 23, 2025.
