The Village of Huntley Police Commission voted June 10, 2025, to certify a new-hire eligibility list for the police department after receiving an update on staffing vacancies from Chrissy Hoover, the village’s director of human resources and organizational compliance.
Chairman Jim Burgess opened the meeting at 3:02 p.m. in Municipal Complex Room C107 and recorded Commissioner Dan Maloney, Commissioner Judy Serrano, Chief of Police Linda Hooten and Director Chrissy Hoover as present. During the public comment period, no members of the public spoke.
Hoover briefed commissioners on current vacancies within the Police Department and outlined next steps in the recruitment process and the establishment of the eligibility list. Following that update, Commissioner Dan Maloney moved to certify the new-hire eligibility list; Chairman Burgess seconded the motion. The commission adopted the certification by voice vote, recorded as all ayes.
The commission also took routine procedural actions. Chairman Burgess moved to approve the May 29, 2025, General Session minutes; Commissioner Judy Serrano seconded, and the motion carried by voice vote. The Commission approved the May 29, 2025, Executive Session minutes for content only after a motion by Chairman Burgess and a second from Commissioner Dan Maloney; that motion likewise passed by voice vote.
The meeting adjourned at 3:10 p.m. after a motion by Chairman Burgess, seconded by Commissioner Serrano; the voice vote was all ayes. The commission announced its next meeting for Monday, July 14, 2025, at 8:00 a.m.
