The Village of Lindenhurst Board met Monday, Feb. 9, 2026, and approved routine minutes, financial reports and several operational items, including an ordinance authorizing disposal of surplus police equipment and a purchase order for three replacement police SUVs.
Trustee Pat Dunham read the Treasurer's Report for January 2026, reporting total balances of $18,736,798.53 as of Jan. 31. The board approved the report on a 6-0 roll call vote after Dunham moved and Trustee Pat Dickson seconded the motion. The board also approved the first set of January bills totaling $1,517,690.74 by a 6-0 roll call vote after a motion from Trustee Dunham and a second from Trustee Dawn Suchy.
Police Chief Melinda Linas told the board three police Interceptor SUVs are scheduled for replacement in fiscal year 2027 and that she placed an order through the State joint purchasing program with Currie Ford of Frankfort, Ill. The board authorized the purchase in an amount not to exceed $137,502 on a 6-0 roll call vote (motion by Trustee Pat Dunham, second by Trustee Patty Chybowski). The chief said the vehicles were ordered now under the state's negotiated contract and delivery is expected to fall within FY2027.
The board also adopted Ordinance 2026-2-2330 to deem certain Police Department workout equipment surplus and eligible for proper disposal. Trustee Dawn Suchy moved to adopt the ordinance; Trustee Ron Grace seconded and the ordinance passed by roll call vote 6-0.
The board moved into executive session later in the meeting to review prior executive session minutes under 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(21) and reconvened to adjourn at 7:19 p.m.
