Lindenhurst board approves financial reports, pension compliance filing and communications plan update

The Village of Lindenhurst Board on Oct. 13, 2025 voted to approve routine financial and operational items, accepted the Police Pension Municipal Compliance Report and adopted a communications plan update.

Trustees approved the Treasurer’s Report for September 2025 as read by Trustee Pat Dunham; the report listed total funds of $17,958,580.24 as of Sept. 30, 2025. The board also approved the first set of October bills presented for payment totaling $757,390.76 for invoices due on or before Oct. 13, 2025; Trustee Dunham moved and Trustee Ron Grace seconded that payment batch and the motion passed by roll call (5–0).

The board accepted the Police Pension Municipal Compliance Report, which the minutes record as holding assets with a market value of $13,607,980, disbursements of $538,972, investment gains of $884,200, a municipal contribution of $735,489 and a funded ratio of 76.52%. Trustee Patty Chybowski moved to accept the report (the motion is recorded as moved and seconded by Trustee Chybowski); the vote carried by roll call (4–0). Trustee Heath Rosten had exited the meeting before this vote.

Staff presented a 2025 update to the Village Communications Plan focused on a style guide, document templates and consistent Village-wide branding; Trustee Ron Grace moved and Trustee Pat Dunham seconded adoption and the board approved the update by roll call (4–0).

Other items recorded in the minutes included an oath of office administered by Mayor Dominic Marturano to James Siefken, Jr. as Police Commander, Police Chief Melinda Linas’s report on a recent Citizen’s Academy and Public Works Superintendent Charles Hernandez’s summary of completed sidewalk/curb replacement, lagoon work and preparations for winter operations and Santa’s Float. The meeting adjourned at 7:57 p.m.
