The Village of Willow Springs board voted April 25 to grant a business license to SIPA Advisor for a location at 86915 Archer Unit 2H.
President opened the single action item and noted the applicant was present. The applicant was introduced by the president as Miss Johnson; during questions from trustees she said she holds a Maryland license issued in 2022 and that she has worked as a licensed adviser in Virginia for about 25 years. Trustees asked whether the business had started marketing locally before obtaining a village license, whether signage plans had changed and when the lease began (trustees referenced a March 1 start date). The applicant told the board she had modified her original signage plan to a smaller model and that some operations would not be in the commercial storefront space.
Trustee Arra moved to approve the license and a second was recorded. The board conducted a roll-call vote; Trustees Arra, Kennedy, Micah, Ash and Moon were recorded as voting “aye.” President announced the license passed.
The board’s discussion focused on ensuring the applicant understood local permitting and signage rules and on reminding residents how to verify permitted solicitors and vendors. The village clerk confirmed application materials were included in the board packet and staff will complete any follow-up administrative checks required before the license is finalized.
