IHDA presents results of Kewanee housing needs assessment based on 300 responses

The Illinois Housing Development Authority presented the results of a Community Needs Assessment for Kewanee on Jan. 12, reporting findings from 300 survey responses collected between August and October 2025. Amy Bashiti of IHDA led the presentation and conducted a live follow-up survey with council and attendees to gather additional input.

According to the presentation, the survey data will inform a Community Revitalization Plan for Kewanee; council members were given an opportunity to answer additional questions during the live polling. IHDA indicated that this community input will be incorporated into next steps for revitalization planning.

The presentation was introduced during New Business and council did not take formal action at the meeting; IHDA materials and any recommended next steps were not specified in the minutes and are to be provided as part of the revitalization planning process.
