Several community and nonprofit presentations occupied a portion of the Committee of the Whole meeting on Sept. 7, 2021.
Sheila Wesonga, Wendy Clark and Rev. Dr. Diana Body-Pryor presented on behalf of recipient Adrian Clark and described needs and next steps for pursuing a living-liver donation. The board heard the family's appeal and took the presentation under advisement.
Otis Monroe of The Monroe Foundation outlined a proposed partnership with the Village to provide "2nd Chance" resources, including assistance with sealing and expungement of eligible records; trustees agreed to place the program proposal on a future agenda for formal consideration.
Trustees discussed a staff recommendation to waive a $300 parking-lot expansion fee for School District 89's Washington Dual Language Academy; the board reached consensus to move the item to the next meeting so it can be considered formally. Perry Vietti of Interfaith Housing Development Corporation raised parking concerns for Fifth Avenue Apartments; staff said they would follow up with recommendations.
No final policy or financial commitments were made during the Sept. 7 Committee of the Whole; the presentations and referrals will return to a future board or committee meeting for potential action.
