Kewanee hears pavement-condition index from Hutchison Engineering

Representatives from Hutchison Engineering presented their pavement conditioning index to the Kewanee City Council at the Jan. 26 meeting, describing how data were collected and how streets were ranked for maintenance and repair priorities.

The presentation outlined the methodology used to produce the conditioning index and the resulting rankings, intended to help the city identify near-term and longer-term pavement projects. Councilmember Colomer joined the meeting at 7:16 p.m. during the presentation.

Council did not take formal action on the presentation at the meeting. The report provides a data-driven basis for future budgeting and capital planning for the city’s streets; councilmembers may use the findings when reviewing maintenance and capital-improvement proposals in coming budget cycles.
