The Village of Maywood Board of Trustees on July 13 approved a broad omnibus spending package that included several large construction contracts and vendor payments.
In an omnibus motion the board approved the low bid from Triggi Construction, Inc. for the Maywood 2021 Alley and Roadway Improvements Project for $2,072,926.00. The board also approved a $448,081.90 construction contract with J. Nardulli Concrete, Inc., and accepted a payment record for Swallow Construction Corporation related to First Avenue Water Main Improvements totaling $755,767.71. Other large vendor payments on the omnibus list included $304,118.55 to the City of Chicago for water services and $620,210.73 to Blue Cross Blue Shield for employee health insurance premiums.
Trustees voted to approve Omnibus Agenda Items A–BB with no recorded dissent; Trustee M. Lightford was absent. The board pulled Item M — an intergovernmental agreement with the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago for design, construction and maintenance of the I‑290 Corridor Storm Relief Project — so the village engineer could review it separately.
The omnibus approval grouped many routine and one‑time expenditures, from routine janitorial and fuel services to multi‑hundred‑thousand dollar infrastructure payments, and cleared the way for staff to continue scheduled construction and utilities work this summer.
The board recessed into closed session later in the evening on litigation, personnel and real estate matters and reconvened before adjourning at 10:27 p.m.
