At its Feb. 2 meeting, the Franklin Park Board of Trustees unanimously appointed Katarina Modrich to the village's Tree Preservation Commission and approved an omnibus consent agenda that included several contracts and expenditures.
Trustee Karen Special moved to appoint Modrich and Trustee (Ms.) Avitia seconded; the roll-call vote recorded ayes from Trustees Gilbert Hagerstrom, John Johnson, William Ruhl, Karen Special, Andres Ybarra and Ms. Avitia and no nays or abstentions.
On the consent agenda, the board approved voucher payments totaling $2,671,189.98 and adopted Resolution No. 2526, authorizing an agreement between the village and Entertainment Management Group for the 2026 Franklin Park Fest. The board also approved a proposal from Polach Appraisal Group, Inc., not to exceed $9,700, to determine market value for right-of-way acquisitions and easements related to the traffic signal on Grand Avenue at George Street. In addition, trustees voted to waive bid requirements and authorize a proposal from Standard Equipment, not to exceed $25,760.79, to repair a street sweeper.
Village Clerk April J. Arellano read the consent items aloud before the omnibus motion by Trustee John Johnson, seconded by Trustee Andres Ybarra; the motion passed on a unanimous roll-call vote. The minutes indicate village officers were authorized to execute documents necessary to implement the approved items.
