The Beardstown City Council on April 16 approved Payment Resolution No. 4, authorizing payments totaling $764,158.40 for the USDA Sanitary Sewer Replacement Project.
A motion by Alderperson Chris Baer, seconded by Alderperson Dawn Seward, passed on an 8–0 roll call vote. The pay resolution breaks the payment into $734,699.60 to Hood Construction Group Midwest LLC and $29,458.80 to Benton & Associates, Inc. The roll call recorded Baer, Buhlig, Culves, Davis, Harbin, Schramm, Seward and Taylor voting yea and none voting no or absent.
The vote came during a brief meeting at Beardstown City Hall that otherwise covered routine business. Earlier the council, on a motion by Dawn Seward seconded by Eric Harbin, unanimously approved the minutes of the April 2, 2024 meeting by voice vote. The council also approved filing the routine reports under the Omnibus Vote Designation on a motion by Eric Harbin, seconded by Lisa Buhlig, which passed unanimously by roll call.
Separately, the council approved a request from St. Alexis Church to close Sixth Street between Washington Street and Lafayette Street on Sunday, May 5, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; the motion by Dawn Seward, seconded by Eric Harbin, passed by unanimous voice vote.
There were no public comments at the meeting. With no further business, the council adjourned at 6:41 p.m.
