The Monterey County Planning Commission opened its March 25, 2026 meeting with routine roll call and public-access instructions, and noted two withdrawn agenda items before considering a Big Sur replacement-home project (PLN250111).
Staff reported PLN250149 (Duncan & Duncan LLC), an application for a senior dog rescue facility of up to 20 dogs, was withdrawn after public noticing and therefore there was no item for commission consideration. Another scheduled item was likewise withdrawn.
In department updates, County Housing and Community Development staff said the county submitted a third draft of its housing element update to the state on March 13 for a 60-day review and that staff expect only final refinements remain before state acceptance. Staff also reported that the Board of Supervisors accepted a recommendation to elevate the Pajaro Community Plan to the top list of general-plan priorities. Commissioners were reminded of a joint Planning Commission/Land Use Advisory Committee meeting scheduled for 1:30 p.m. that afternoon.
With no additional public speakers, the commission adjourned its morning session at 9:29 a.m.
