Trustees approved several purchase requests intended to finalize line items in this fiscal year and to replace worn equipment.
The board approved a low-cost computer ($524.99) to be mounted to the back of the lobby television for public information display. Trustees discussed who would manage the display and confirmed the display will not substitute for required paper public notices.
The board also approved a spare desktop workstation (quoted at $1,684.99) to serve as a backup office computer and as a device that can drive the lobby display. Trustees debated whether the backup should be purchased now or be sourced from a capital fund, but accepted staff’s explanation that the village currently lacks any spare system and that the line item exists in this year’s budget.
A separate motion approved switching communications at three municipal sites (water, wastewater, highway) to Archtop fiber at roughly $99.99 per site per month; staff noted this will replace a current Spectrum service and increase service reliability.
For the highway and tree commission, Superintendent Kyle (speaker 6) recommended buying three one‑trip 20-foot shipping containers at a total not-to-exceed price of $10,500 as a cost-effective alternative to new sheds. He said he obtained multiple quotes and selected units that are one-trip and sealed; trustees approved the purchase and discussed logistics for removing existing rotted sheds.
