Brown County Commission approves consent calendar and honors retiring legal assistant

The Brown County Commission approved its consent calendar, including approval of the March 17 meeting minutes, claims and payroll, transfer of a 2018 Ford Explorer from the sheriff’s office to the Department of Equalization, and the surplus of several sheriff’s vehicles. The board also approved multiple final plats and other routine items by voice vote.

During the HR report the chair acknowledged and thanked Penny Hart, a legal assistant in the state’s attorney’s office, for many years of service and noted her retirement was effective the previous day. “We wish her the best in her next venture and sincerely thank her for her many years of hard work and dedication,” the chair said; the board approved the recognition by voice vote.

At the meeting’s close commissioners moved into executive session for personnel and legal matters and returned with no action taken. The commission then adjourned by voice vote.
