Foster retained as chair; Showalter re-elected vice chair, Azar stays BZA liaison

The Ferndale Planning Commission confirmed its leadership for the year during the March 18 meeting, re-electing Chair Foster, reappointing Commissioner Showalter as vice chair and keeping Commissioner Azar as the commission’s liaison to the Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA).

Nominations were offered from the dais and motions were moved and seconded. A motion to keep Chair Foster in the chair position was moved and seconded and passed by voice vote. Commissioner Showalter was nominated and re-elected as vice chair after a motion by Commissioner Azar; that motion also passed by voice vote. The commission then moved to keep Commissioner Azar as the BZA liaison for the coming year.

Commissioners said they had no strong objections to the incumbents continuing in their roles and thanked each other for service. The commission’s clerk and staff will update rosters and notify the city clerk’s office of the officer assignments.
