During the public portion of the meeting the board read and adopted five memoriam resolutions recognizing former Utica City School District employees for their years of service. For each resolution the board called for a motion, received a second and approved the resolution by voice vote.
The resolutions memorialized:
- Anne Catherine Pasilio (39 years, teacher)
- Dolores (Dolores Frijetta) Manganelli (33 years, teacher; noted service at John F. Hughes Elementary)
- Louis Laporte (31 years, head custodian at Albany Elementary)
- Magnolia Jean Baird Davis (20 years, noted as Utica's first Black Head Start teacher)
- Mary Martello DiPama (32 years, elementary teacher and math facilitator)
Later in the meeting a motion to enter executive session to discuss the employment history of particular people and legal matters was made by a board member and seconded; the board approved the motion and entered executive session by voice vote.
