Judiciary committee compiles broad consent calendar; many bills advanced to the floor

The Judiciary Committee read and approved a broad consent calendar that included numerous bills and resolutions to be sent to the floor for further consideration. Items listed on the consent calendar included SB 260 (roaming dogs, as amended), SB 291, SB 292 (child‑abuse‑materials definition), SB 294 (trade names, fraudulent filings and notary fees), SB 296 (consumer protection/sports wagering), SB 391 (breast‑cancer screening for women in DOC custody), SB 473 and SB 475 (statutory and judicial-branch technical items), SB 506 (critical‑infrastructure penalties), SB 508 (school‑bus stop violations), several House bills (including HB 5438 and HB 5535) and a sequence of claims resolutions and payments (SJ 39, SJ 46, SJ 49, SJ 52, SJ 53, SJ 55, SJ 56, HJ 40, HJ 42, HJ 57).

The clerk called the roll on the consent calendar and members recorded their votes; the chair announced votes would be held until 3:30 p.m. and the committee recessed. The consent calendar reading in the committee establishes which items are being sent to the floor with JF/JFS designations and LCO references for floor language.
