At the March 25 hearing the magistrate reviewed case EEN260055 related to inoperable vehicles and debris at 1747 North Central. City staff described flat tires, rust and vehicles partially obstructing the sidewalk and driveway area, which complicates neighbors’ safe ingress and egress.
Property owner John Pavia acknowledged the situation and said he would arrange towing and cleanup; he requested a short window to address the vehicles. The magistrate allowed 21 days for removal or for vehicles to be rendered operable and properly registered, asked Pavia to notify code-enforcement staff when the work was done, and said the city will recover mailing and administrative costs ($19.20) as shown in the order.
The magistrate emphasized the objective was not punitive but remedial, and asked staff to coordinate with the owner to avoid undue hardship while ensuring neighborhood safety and property standards.
