Erin Hudson, identified herself as the communications and outreach director for the town (speaker 10) and described the department’s role in telling the town’s story and delivering timely, accurate information to residents.
Hudson highlighted a website redesign launched in October and said the new .gov site and related digital tools were developed with stakeholder feedback and ADA/WCAG accessibility in mind. She noted the town adopted a language access plan in February 2024 and said staff will present an update to council on March 24 covering strategic communications and language access work. "Information equals education, and an informed community can be an engaged community," Hudson said.
She described resident education programs — Morrisville 101 and Teen 101 — and said the communications team supports multiple newsletters, social channels and internal coordination for events and economic development announcements. Hudson also described a new work‑ticket process to triage communications requests across departments and noted efforts to digitize content to reduce printed material waste.
Hudson urged board members and the public to follow the town’s channels and said staff will continue to evaluate tools for accessibility and community engagement. The item was informational; no formal board action was taken.
