Council appoints Bruce O. Iacobelli president of the Board for 2025; he abstains from vote

The Borough of North Haledon appointed Councilman Bruce O. Iacobelli president of the Board for 2025 during its Jan. 15 work session. Councilman George Pomianek nominated Iacobelli and Councilwoman Donna Puglisi seconded the motion. Upon roll call, four members voted in the affirmative and Iacobelli abstained; the motion carried.

The appointment followed roll call at the start of the meeting, which recorded Mayor Randy George and council members George Pomianek, Bruce O. Iacobelli, Donna Puglisi, Jacqueline Roscio and Vincent Parmese present; Councilmember Rocco Luisi was absent. The motion to appoint Iacobelli was moved by Pomianek and seconded by Puglisi.

Following the appointment, the mayor presented his committee assignments for 2025, naming chairs and committee memberships across public works, finance, police/emergency management, fire and water, insurance, engineering and codification review. Council moved to concur with the mayor’s appointments; the concurrence motion, moved by Councilwoman Puglisi and seconded by Councilwoman Roscio, carried on a unanimous roll-call vote.

The work session minutes record the formal nomination, second and roll-call outcome for the presidency. No further changes to the appointment were recorded in the minutes. The council adjourned the session at 8:09 p.m.
