Mayor (Speaker 2) opened the meeting's administrative updates by asking residents to report potholes on the township website and describing a two-track approach: DPW will fix ordinary potholes quickly, and the township will contract and declare emergencies for locations beyond DPW capacity.
"If you do see the pothole, please do report it on the township website," the mayor said, and he added that the DPW aims to fix routine potholes within 48 hours of a website report. For complex sites the mayor said staff will obtain quotes from contractors and proceed on an emergency basis so repairs are not delayed by a longer approval process.
On regional infrastructure, the mayor said he had recently spoken with NJDOT leadership and that Amtrak had provided outage access for bridge inspection work on Clarksville Road. "The next step they said was it will take 4 weeks to figure out the options," he said, adding that he would update the public once the inspection team finishes and staff have the recommendations.
The council asked that staff post road-repair information on the township website and the mayor agreed. The council did not take formal action at the meeting on these items but scheduled follow-up updates as inspections and contractor quotes are completed.
