At its March 24 meeting the Franklin County Board of Supervisors tabled two Secondary Roads utility permits — one submitted by Dumont Telephone and one by Router 12 — until the associated Drainage District Utility Permits could be received and reviewed. Both tabling motions carried on unanimous votes.
Secondary Roads Engineer Jay Waddingham provided a departmental update to the Board during the meeting. The Board also approved a proclamation naming April as Child Abuse Prevention Month and ordered the county clock tower to be lit blue April 15–30.
The Board adopted Resolution #2026-25 authorizing operating transfers from the General Basic Fund to support county Conservation ($45,000) and Veterans Affairs ($15,000). The resolution directed the County Auditor to proceed with the transfers and was adopted by roll call vote with all supervisors voting in favor.
Additionally, the Board approved one family farm application on parcel 05-17300-013 under Iowa Code §425A as recommended by the Franklin County Assessor. The Auditor reminded the Board that a special session would convene at 1:00 p.m. for a proposed FY2027 property tax public hearing. The meeting adjourned at 10:21 a.m.
