Administrator Melanie updated the council on several administrative items, including animal services improvements and recent finance results.
Melanie said the village met this week with the contractor identified to assess and quote updates to the animal services facility and expected a formal quote within two weeks. "They have a state contract, so we don't have to get quotes to follow our procurement code," Melanie said, but staff acknowledged that design work and additional items could push cost estimates beyond the county’s $35,000 contribution.
Melanie also reported the village’s Local Government Investment Pool balance of $4,166,472.26 and said sweep receipts added roughly $25,210 last month, producing net monthly infusions on the order of $14,000 after fees. She said sweep funds are being routed into the general fund and could be applied to capital projects if council directs.
Finally, Melanie reminded the council that the FY2027 budget workshop is scheduled for April 21 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.; the session will be a workshop format without public comment but will be recorded and posted to YouTube for residents who cannot attend.
